Society’s interest in nutraceuticals and functional foods is accelerating rapidly and it is well recognised that the availability of health-promoting functional foods in the diet has the potential to help ensure a healthier population.

O4 Research recognises that the consumer has become much more discerning, sophisticated and demanding in relation to food. Therefore, their changing needs must be continuously identified and translated into future beverages, foods and supplements that contribute to health and well-being in the context of our fast paced environment, particularly in relation to healthy ageing, mental performance and energy.

This exciting area is of much interest to the O4 Research team, and consequently the team has developed expertise in designing and managing human dietary interventional studies and food interventional studies in areas such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, maintenance of normal blood glucose, promoting cognitive health and sport performance to support health claims for functional foods in accordance with EFSA guidelines.
